Spain on the road to Frankfurt

The Frankfurt Book Fair organizes a trip with a delegation of German publishers, booksellers and writers to Barbastro, northern Spain, where two publishing events are taking place in May, in the frame of Guest of Honour Spain 2022:

More than 70 publishers and booksellers from Spain, Latin America and Germany are expected at the trade event "Otra Mirada" (18 - 19 May).

Heinrich von Berenberg, Berenberg Verlag, Roland Spahr, S.Fischer Verlag, Ben von Rimscha, Buchhandlung am Moritzplatz, and Ana S. Pareja, Buchhandlung Bartleby & Co. will be the participants from Germany. The main aim of the meetings between international partners is the exchange of experiences in the different markets.

The professional event will be followed by the literary festival "Barbitania" (20 - 22 May), which will be held under the concept of „Connection/Relationship“ (Spanish: "Vínculo").

The three German writers Verena Boos, Sabrina Janesch and Adriana Stern will respectively participate in the round tables about „Violence, History and Childhood“.

The events are organised by Librerías Cálamo with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Organisation of Ibero-American States (OEI), the Frankfurt Book Fair and the German Federal Foreign Office, among others.
