Belle, Oni and Oliver are in training to become real-life adventurers! The syllabus includes travelling the world, discovering magic objects and researching mysterious creatures. The adventure begins on their very first day of school, when a famous magic dagger called the Fire Tiger is stolen. The young thief, Connor Blaze, is a real artful dodger and therefore a perfect candidate for the school of adven turers! Thanks to him, the first excursion soon becomes a perilous trip into the fantastical world of pirates. 

THiLO is somewhere between 18 and 65 – though he looks younger. He has been putting his heart and soul into writing children’s and YA books since he was 15. THiLO’s books have sold over 4 million copies and been translated into 20 languages.

Julian Tapprich, born in 1982 in Zurich, studied comparative literature and photography in Vienna. He works as an illustrator and cartoonist.

Her own life experiences inform her work: for several summers, she worked with livestock on alpine pastures and is always accompanied by a loyal dog.

Barbara Schulze Frenking lives and works in Munich. After studying design with a focus on illustration and info graphics, she became a freelance illustrator in 2022. She wants her illustrations to make people smile and think, and to make the world a little bit more colourful.

Manuela Olten, born in 1970, studied visual communication with a focus on children's book illustration at the University of Art and Design in Offenbach. Her first picture book, ‘Echte Kerle’ (tr: Real Guys), won the Oldenburg Children's and Youth Book Prize and was nominated for the German Youth Literature Award.

Mehrdad Zaeri was born in 1970 in Iran. When he was 14 he fled with his family to Germany. Since 2006 he has worked as a book illustrator, live performance illustrator and storyteller in German-Speaking countries.
