Signals of Hope Cairo Selling Translation Rights

Panel discussion / discussion

In this seminar, our guest speakers will give valuable, practical tips on how to promote your authors to German publishers, covering questions such as: What criteria are decisive for German publishers and programme directors in the acquisition of foreign authors? What helps them to overcome the language barrier? Can translators be important intermediaries? What about literary agents? What should Egyptian publishers bear in mind when they want to sell translation rights to Germany? What does the ideal assessment look like? How important are literary prizes? How important is translation funding?

After the podium discussion, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk with the speakers.
