Images, encounters, stories, and impressions of major milestones – all these are described in “Essences”, Anna Maria Jokl’s account of her life and experiences in the last century. Twenty years after her death, “Essences” is the first of her books to be published in Hebrew by Persimmon-Verlag. Kerstin Malka-Winter from the Goethe-Institut talks with translator Hanan Elstein about Anna Maria Jokl's life and writing. Actress Michal Karni will read selected passages.
