Since 1971, the Nobel Prize in Literature has been awarded to authors writing in seventeen different languages. Anglophone writers predominate, followed (by a wide margin) by authors writing in German and Spanish. What can we do to ensure works from all countries of the world can reach far-flung readerships, allowing them to discover the full spectrum of literature from different authors and cultures? Experts from three countries discuss success stories and problems in this area.
