Poetry Without Shelter

What does home mean when it is no longer a place of security, or when it has been lost altogether? Poetry Without Shelter brings together poems about home and homelessness, loss and love, hope and survival. The texts offer personal and often deeply moving perspectives on life at the margins of society, while also reflecting universal experiences of longing, vulnerability and resilience.

The poems were written by authors connected with Fedél Nélkül, a Hungarian street newspaper produced and sold by homeless people and others living in socially difficult circumstances. Through their writing, these authors claim space for their voices and experiences, challenging stereotypes and inviting audiences to look beyond labels.

At the event, selected works will be performed by well-known actors and accompanied by live music. The combination of spoken word and musical interpretation will create an intimate setting in which the poems can be heard not only as accounts of hardship, but also as expressions of imagination, dignity, affection and hope.
