Galiani Berlin is the am imprint under the roof of Kiepenheuer & Witsch, established in 2009 by Wolfgang Hörner and Esther Kormann – the creative minds behind the programme. They publish a mixture of literature, classics and narrative non-fiction in hardcover format only, including an illustrated series and outstanding examples of extraordinarily beautiful books.
The imprint is named after Ferdinando Galiani: a true genius who was interested in everything around him, innovative, unpredictable and never boring. This reflects the path that Wolfgang Hörner and Esther Kormann are following with their new imprint. German Authors include Karen Duve, Alain Claude Sulzer, Jan Costin Wagner, Sven Regener, Volker Kutscher, Peggy Mädler, Kat Menschik, Bernd Brunner, Christian Adam an others; foreign authors Fredrik Sjöberg, Katja Kettu, Ai Weiwei, Michail Chodorkowski, Gaspard Koenig and others.
Classics comprise Laurence Sterne, Michail Bulgakow, Daniil Charms, Réstif de la Bretonne, Alexander Puschkin, Icelandic Sagas, Schota Rustaweli, Elias Lönnrot, Fjodor Dostojewski, Edgar Allen Poe and others.
