Arne Svingen (1967) is one of Norway's most popular authors, having written over 100 books. His work includes children's books as well as novels for young adults and adults. Svingen has been nominated for many Norwegian book prizes, among others, three times for both the Kritikerprisen and the Brageprisen, six times for the ARKs children's book award, twice for the Uprisen and four times for the Bokslukerprisen. He received the latter in 2020 for his book En himmel full av skyer (A Sky Full of Clouds), and in 2005 he was awarded the Brageprisen for Svart Elfenben (Black Ivory). In 2012, he received the Ministry of Culture's Literature Prize for Sangen om en brukket nese (Song about a Broken Nose). His books have been translated into 20 languages, including German.
