Judith Schalansky
Author

Judith Schalansky (1980) is a German author and book designer. Her publications are characterised by a careful interplay of typographic and visual qualities. Not only the text, but the physical books themselves can be considered works of art. Schalansky enchanted a whole world with the many editions of Atlas der abgelegenen Inseln (Atlas of Remote Islands / Atlas over fjerne øyer) translated into Norwegian in 2012 by Per Qvale. Available Norwegian translations by Elisabeth Beanca Halvorsen include 2013’s Sjiraffens hals (The Giraffe's Neck) and 2021’s Fortegnelse over det tapte (An Inventory of Losses), both published by Forlaget Press.
