Translator and literary critic Tomáš Dimter studied philosophy in Prague and Berlin, and German language and literature in Salzburg and Hamburg. He has translated almost 60 titles from German, focusing on contemporary German-language fiction as well as non-fiction texts on environmental issues. He is a member of several professional commissions and juries of translation awards. Currently he is the editor-in-chief of the publishing house Mladá fronta. He lives in Adršpach.
