Tereza Semotamová

The translator, writer and screenwriter Tereza Semotamová (*1983) studied dramaturgy and stagecraft at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts as well as German language and literature at the Masark University Faculty of Philosophy in Brno. She works as an editor for the jádu portal of the Goethe-Institut in Prague. She is also a publicist, works for the radio and writes radio plays. In 2018, her first own prose work Ve skříni [Engl. In the Cupboard] was published. She translates contemporary German-language fiction and drama (e.g. Marcus Braun, Michael Stavarič, Gregor Sander, Sibylle Berg, Marion Poschmann, Anja Hilling). She is a committee member of the Czech Association of Translators Obec překladatelů.
