Verlag Urachhaus Freies Geistesleben

The publishing house Urachhaus was initially founded in 1925 under the name Verlag der Christengemeinschaft. A renaming in reference to the then publishing location in Urachstraße became necessary in 1936 due to external political circumstances. A publication ban followed in 1941, but publishing activities were resumed in 1946. In the mid-1990s, Urachhaus merged with Verlag Freies Geistesleben. The programmes of both publishing houses remained unaffected by this and have existed independently side by side until today. The publisher's bestsellers include Children's Hour, the novels by Christian Signol and Tove Jansson, and the picture and illustrated house books by Daniela Drescher.
