Ya-Li Tong

Tong Ya-Li, given name Yu-Wen Chou, is an assistant professor at the German Department of Fu Jen Catholic University. She assisted and guided the establishment of the “German-Taiwanese Intercultural Laboratory” initiated by students of the German Department of Fu Jen Catholic University.

Studies: PhD in Film from FU Berlin, Masters in Applied Media Arts from National Taiwan University of Arts, B.A. in German Language and Literature from Fu Jen Catholic University.

Grants received: Invitation to the “Literary Colloquium Berlin, LCB”; “ViceVersa: German-Chinese Translators’ Workshop” (2015); Artist in Residence for literary translations by the Robert Bosch Stiftung; Artist in Residence in Berlin and Krakow; participation in the “Geteilter Himmel” translators’ programme (2017); recipient from the TOLEDO translation funding programme of the German Translator Fund and the Robert Bosch Stiftung; Artist in Residence at the European College of Translators (EÜK Straelen, 2019); three-time recipient of funding for literary work from the National Culture and Arts Foundation from 2018 to 2020.
