Writers’ House of Georgia

Born in 1975, Natasha Lomouri is the director of Writers’ House of Georgia since 2011.  The institution, which is one of the leading literary organization in the country,  manages a very active local and international literature programme,  two museums, a writers’ residency program and organizes Tbilisi International Festival of Literature. The latest additions to the Writers House functions include a versatile programme of translation activities and representation of the country at the international book fairs.

Under Natasha Lomouri’s supervision, the team of Writers’ House has successfully fulfilled the challenging goal of transformation of the Soviet Writers Union, which had been open only to the small group of the writers privileged during the Soviet times and  during the early years of the independence and which had been completely closed for the younger generation of Georgian writers. Now the Writers House is one of the most vibrant, open and forward-looking literature and cultural centers of Georgia.
