Lukas Verlag is an independent, owner-operated scientific and non-fiction publisher with a focus on art, culture and contemporary history. It was founded at the end of 1995.
Despite its good reputation and a comparatively broad program of over 600 titles, it is still a fairly small company. Its reputation is based primarily on numerous books on resistance to the Nazi regime, on everyday life in the GDR, on the history of art and architecture since the Middle Ages, and on the cultural history of Berlin and Brandenburg.
