Eva Menasse, born 1970 in Vienna, first worked as a journalist and made her debut as a writer in 2005 with her family novel Vienna. Further novels and short stories have been released, including Lässliche Todsünden (Engl. Casual Deadly Sins) and Tiere für Fortgeschrittene (Engl. Animals for the Advanced), which have won numerous prizes and been translated into many languages. Eva Menasse is also an essayist and was awarded the Ludwig Börne Prize in 2019. Dunkelblum is her latest novel. Eva Menasse has lived in Berlin for more than 20 years.
