Born in Kelheim, Bavaria, in 1981, Birgit Holzer lives and works in Paris since 2009. As a Paris-based correspondent reporting for German-speaking newspapers such as "Augsburger Allgemeine Zeitung", "Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland" (RND), "Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger", "Frankfurter Rundschau" or "Der Kurier", she writes about French politics, economics and society (tourism, gastronomy, culture, fashion etc). In 2022 she wrote a guide about Paris called "Paris - Stadtabenteuer" for "Michael Müller Verlag". She is also a regular commentator and analyst of French and German politics and society and the Franco-German relationship on French television and radio such as France Info Télévisions, France Info Radio et RTL Radio.
