Stephan HebStephan Hebel, born in Frankfurt am Main in 1956, worked as an editor and author for the "Frankfurter Rundschau" from 1985 to 2022, including as a correspondent in Berlin. Since his retirement, he is writing as a freelance author for several newspapers. In his analyses and commentaries, he deals not only with German domestic, economic and social policy, but also with the state of the European Union, the global North-South relationship and the consequences of increasing authoritarianism, including for freedom of speech and the media.
