Hochparterre was founded in 1988 by Benedikt Loderer and Köbi Gantenbein. Since 2022, the newly established Mezzanin Foundation has held the majority of shares.

Hochparterre has a lot to offer: with high standards in terms of design, content and language, the monthly magazine brings together reports and reviews, analyses and opinion pieces.

The Hochparterre.ch website documents current events in words and pictures, video reports and podcasts. The specialist journal “Hochparterre Wettbewerbe” presents the most relevant architecture competitions five times a year and shapes the debate with commentaries and public events. In collaboration with partners, we produce themed magazines and websites on current issues. Edition Hochparterre publishes books and book series on our topics. And last but not least, we are the organisers or partners of prestigious awards and host discussion series and panel discussions.
