Katja Stergar has been director of the Slovenian Book Agency since November 2022, and since the establishment of the agency in 2009 the head of international cooperations. She previously worked as an editor and is still a literary critic for children’s and YA literature. Since 2010, she has been the representative in the Traduki network. From 2019 to 2022 she led the European project Every Story Matters in Slovenia, from 2019 the project Slovenia GOH at the Bologna Book Fair 2024 and from November 2022 the project Slovenia GOH at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2023. Since 2025, she has been leading European projects Development of Digital Publishing and We Include and Empower 2.
