Gábor Fónyad is an Austrian writer of Hungarian descent whose work brings Hungarian and Austrian cultural experiences into dialogue. His novels focus on questions of identity, faith, self-discovery and social roles. Als Jesus in die Puszta kam explores the fine line between faith and fanaticism, truth and madness, while his more recent novel Was noch kommt deals with midlife crisis and the search for identity.
