Gergő Kovács is the pastor of the German-speaking Reformed congregation in Budapest’s Hold Street and a teacher of German and religious studies at the Baár-Madas Reformed Secondary School. An important area of his professional interest is the relationship between German-language literature and the biblical tradition. His workshop uses Thomas Mann’s Joseph and His Brothers to explore how stories and motifs from the Old Testament are reinterpreted and given new meaning in modern European literature.
