Lídia Nádori is a literary translator, founder, and former chairwoman of the Association of Hungarian Literary Translators (MEGY). Born in 1971 in Budapest, she studied literary studies in Pécs (Hungary) and cultural management in Berlin. Her work mainly focuses on contemporary German-language prose and children's and youth literature. Her translation portfolio includes more than a hundred titles. She translates works by Ingo Schulze, Terézia Mora, Herta Müller, Juli Zeh, Otfried Preußler, Edwin Moser, among others. She has led numerous literature translation workshops. Nádori is the founder of the Vienna Literary Workshop (BIM) and head of the translator's workshop in Vienna, as well as a member of the Austrian Literature Translation Forum. She has received scholarships from the LCB, the International Youth Library in Munich, the Künstlerhaus Edenkoben, and the Übersetzerhaus in Straelen. She has published several translation studies articles in journals on the topic of self-reflection of literary translators. Lídia Nádori often appears as a moderator at panel discussions. Currently, she is responsible for the design and execution of the discussion series Translator's Salon at the Goethe-Institut Budapest. She lives in Hungary.
