Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) is the most diverse book fair in the region, where it has gained a global reputation as a leading literary trade and cultural event. ADIBF gained its professional orientation during a joint venture with Frankfurter Buchmesse in the years 2007-2012.
The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair was established in the 1980s. From 2007 until 2013 it was organized by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage in cooperation with the Frankfurter Buchmesse, and grew to be the most international fair in the Arab World. Now run by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, ADIBF is both an important gateway to the region's publishing market and a platform for important cultural policy issues and debates. Germany has been present at ADIBF every year since 2008.
The German Collective Stand in Abu Dhabi is financed by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry.
